KUSI Good Morning San Diego Nature Segments

First created to provide a ‘helping hand’ to educators and parents during the Covid 19 school closings, Ms. Mallory provided LIVE Facebook sessions that highlighted short lessons and DIY activities with things that could be found around the house every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. These short segments were nicknamed, ‘Ms. Mallory’s Nature Class.’

Seeing the benefit of the campaign, one of Southern California’s most popular news programs, KUSI’s Good Morning San Diego, asked to do a few segments highlighting the wildlife in San Diego county.

KUSI viewers began writing in and asking more questions about their backyard neighbors, turning the few segments into an ongoing education series. There have been over 50 segments produced- ranging from the tiniest San Diego fairy shrimp to the largest animal on the planet, the blue whale.
