I am very excited to announce an ongoing collaboration with the Zoo Logic Podcast, a weekly conversation hosted by Dr. Grey Stafford interviewing zoo, aquarium, and animal experts about Nature, pets, animal training, welfare, research and education, sustainability, zoo politics and legislation, and all things animals!  Periodically, I will be sharing my latest adventures and conservation efforts in quick, light-hearted segments conveniently named, The Ms. Mallory Minute.

In this Ms. Mallory Minute (starting around 6:40 mark), I discuss the plight of the Central American river turtle (Dermatemys mawii), also known as the Hicatee.  Unlike most turtle species that are declining due to human encroachment and habitat loss, this last surviving member of its genus is being eaten to extinction.

I highly recommend you check out the rest of Dr. Grey's  podcasts and his book, Zoomility , that outlines steps anyone can take to teach animals calm, cooperative and complex behaviors regardless of species, age, or past issues with positive reinforcement.
